Valley View Mike Donahue Memorial 5 Miler Race Information

<p>Campus Recreation is proud to present the Valley View Mike Donahue Memorial 5 Miler hosted at Hydaway Outdoor Center on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The 5 Mile trail race is the 2nd race in the Fall Liberty Mountain Trail Series. The course is run on single track trails and mountain roads along the Liberty Mountain Trail System. </p> <p>This race is a partnership with the Liberty University Military Affairs department to show all our support to those who serve.  In memory of Major Mike Donahue, the event is specifically meant to honor and remember this man who made such a positive impact in the community and at Liberty University.  </p> <p><strong>DATE</strong> | Saturday, November 8, 2025<br /><strong>LOCATION</strong> | Hydaway Outdoor Center<br /><strong>DISTANCE</strong> | 5 miles</p> <p><strong><br />START TIME</strong> | 9 A.M. <i>(with a special Pre-Race Ceremony at 8:40am)</i><br /><strong>PACKET PICKUP</strong> | November 7 – LaHaye Rotunda from Noon-6 P.M. | November 8 – Hydaway from 8-8:45 A.M. (before the race)<br /><b>T-SHIRT |</b> Featured giveaway t-shirt is guaranteed before Oct 30th registration.  A limited number of extra shirts will be available on a first-come basis at packet pickup.<br /><strong>AWARDS</strong> | Awards will be given to the top 3 male &amp; female overall winners, top 3 male &amp; female in each age group, and top male &amp; female masters (&gt;40 years of age) overall winners. Overall awards will be ranked by gun time, age group awards will be ranked on chip time. </p> <p>Door prizes will also be given out throughout the event.</p> <p><b>REFERRAL DISCOUNT</b> | Be sure to refer your friends/family using your custom code after you register for the race.  Refer 3 registrations and we will refund you $20!</p> <p><em>If you are stationed overseas, on patrol or are not here in Lynchburg, we have a virtual event for you to participate with us!</em></p> <h2><span style="text-decoration:underline"><strong><br />Virtual Race Info</strong></span></h2> <p><br />Those who would like to participate can register and will run their 5miler during the specified dates. Once you run your distance, there will be an opportunity to submit the time via Runsignup.</p> <p><strong>There will be shirts, right?</strong><br />Of course! We have to have race swag, and this event will be a little different, just like the race.  If you register by Oct 30th, you will still get a shirt but it won&#39;t be able to be delivered to you before the event date.  Shirts will be mailed out the week after the race.</p> <p><strong>When can I complete my run?</strong><br />Any time between November 7 and November 9.</p> <p><strong>Where can I complete my run?</strong><br />You can run anywhere you’d like!
