Whether you&#39;re flying solo like the Millennium Falcon or bringing your whole crew of defenders, this high-energy, family-friendly event benefits CASA of Central Virginia and supports our mission to advocate for children in foster care.</p> <p>From the swiftest runners in the galaxy to our legendary Couch Crusaders, there&#39;s a place in this adventure for everyone.</p> <p> <br />&#x1f3c3;‍♂️<strong> 5K Run: Lightspeed Heroes</strong></p> <p>For those with the speed of The Flash and the focus of a Jedi, our 5K run is professionally timed and packed with power. Runners will receive a race shirt (or cape), swag bag, and finisher medal. May the Force be with you as you take off at 10:00 AM from the Percival’s Island Trail launchpad in downtown Lynchburg.<br />Note: Start time is slightly later to account for early morning frost on the bridge—turns out even Jedi tread carefully on icy terrain.</p> <p> <br />&#x1f6b6;‍♀️ <strong>5K Walk: Jedi Pathfinders</strong></p> <p>Prefer to take your mission at a more mindful pace? Our 5K Walk is perfect for walkers who want to suit up and support CASA while enjoying the journey. You’ll still receive a shirt or cape, swag bag, and finisher medal, and your time will be officially recorded.<br />Start time is 10:05 AM.<br />(No age group awards—this is a non-competitive walk through the galaxy.)</p> <p>&#x1f4a5; Combined race cap of 550 across 5K run and walk events—secure your place in the rebel fleet before registration closes!</p> <p> <br />&#x1f9b8;‍♂️<strong> Kids 1 Mile Fun Run: Younglings in Training</strong></p> <p>Calling all Padawans (ages 12 and under)! Your mission: complete the 1-mile course and earn your cape and finisher medal. Training begins now—by race day, you’ll be ready to sprint through hyperspace!<br />The fun run is untimed and begins at 11:45 AM from Percival’s Island Trail.<br /><br />Wave 1 - Younglings (Ages 12 years old &amp; younger), <span style="text-decoration:underline"><strong>Adults are not allowed to run with their child in Wave 1</strong></span><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline">.</span> Parents, be sure to pick up your security bracelet for child check-in/check-out at packet pickup.</strong><br /><br />Wave 2 - Younglings (12 &amp; under) and a parent (no parent registration needed), may run/walk alongside their young Jedi.* —<strong>Parents, be sure to pick up your security bracelet for child check-in/check-out at packet pickup.</strong></p> <p>Wave 3:  Strollers and a parent or guardian (no parent registration needed)*<br /><br />*One additional parent/guardian can be added to a registration with the purchase of a ticket ($5.00) made during registration.</p> <p>⚠️ Race cap:  The combined race cap for the Kids 1 Mile Fun Run is 250.
