<h2><span style="color:rgb( 0 , 0 , 0 );background-color:rgb( 241 , 196 , 15 )"><b>UPDATE 9/9: The 2025 race has been rescheduled for 9/20!</b></span></h2> <h6> </h6> <h2><span style="color:#000000"><b>&#34;Because Sickle Cell Awareness Matters&#34;</b></span></h2> <p><span style="color:#000000">Breaking The Sickle Cell Cycle Foundation, Inc. cordially invites you to the 5th Annual Sickle Cell Warrior Walk/Run 5K!  The Sickle Cell Warrior Walk/Run 5K is an inspiring, family-friendly event to unite the Nashville community and surrounding areas in bringing awareness to sickle cell disease and to create long-lasting relationships to help support members of the sickle cell community.  Sickle cell disease is a painful genetic blood disorder that is known to disproportionately impact minority populations, but any person can have sickle cell disease or carry the trait that is responsible for causing the disease. The goal of this event is to increase community awareness of sickle cell disease and encourage people to learn their sickle cell trait status, use the information to make informed healthcare and family planning decisions.</span><span style="color:#000000"></span></p> <p><span style="color:#000000">The race will be held on </span><span style="background-color:rgb( 241 , 196 , 15 )"><strong>September 20, 2025</strong> </span><span style="color:#000000">at the beautiful Hartman Park. 5K participants will begin the race at <strong>9 AM</strong>, followed by the 1 Mile at 9:05 AM. </span></p> <p><span style="color:#000000">All participants must complete the course by 10:00 AM.  </span></p> <p><span style="color:#000000">Hang out and celebrate with us at the Post Race party where we&#39;ll have refreshments while we cheer and then our awards ceremony at 10:15 AM</span></p> <p><span style="color:#000000">Commemorative race medal &amp; T-shirt are available for paid registrants who sign up by August 6th, 2025. </span></p> <h5><strong>Award Categories: </strong></h5> <p>Awards will be given to the Top 5K finishers as follows</p> <ul><li>Overall: <ul><li>1st Place Overall (Male &amp; Female) $150</li><li>2nd Place Overall (Male &amp; Female) $100</li><li>3rd Place Overall (Male &amp; Female) $50</li></ul> </li><li>Age Group Categories - Presented to the 1st and 2nd place Male &amp; Female finishers in each: <ul><li>16-19</li><li>20-29</li><li>30-39</li><li>40-49</li><li>50&#43;</li></ul> </li></ul>
