<h2 style="text-align:center"><span style="color:#0000ff"><strong>Run the Monon</strong></span></h2> <h4 style="text-align:center"><strong><span style="color:#800000">Indy Runners and Walkers -  Long Run &amp; Picnic </span></strong></h4> <h4 style="text-align:center"><strong><span style="color:#800000">Carmel/Broad Ripple to Downtown Version</span></strong></h4> <p><span style="color:#000000">Join us for our favorite long run of the year, &#34;Run the Monon&#34;!  Continuing our &#34;rotation&#34; between Downtown versions and exploring the northernmost section from Sheridan - this year we&#39;ll be back downtown!  We&#39;ll park at 295 11th St, Indianapolis IN 46202, load up buses in that parking lot and bus up to our Starts = at the Lowes on 146th/Carmel for the 20-milers or Marrott Park for the 12-milers, then Run/Walk back down to the canal downtown.    </span></p> <p><span style="color:#000000">There are two available distances: 20 miles and 12 miles.</span></p> <p><span style="color:#000000">Note: This is NOT a race - it is untimed and no traffic restrictions are in place - but rather a unique chance to get in a long training run with a group of friends and enjoy a fun route.  Then relax with lunch afterward.</span></p> <p><strong>QUESTIONS?</strong><br />Contact Jennifer Courtney at <span style="text-decoration:underline;color:rgb( 35 , 111 , 161 )">runthemonon&#64;indyrunners.org</span>.</p> <p><strong>PARKING</strong><br />We are fortunate to have Parking at 295 11th St, Indianapolis IN 46202.  </p> <p><b>RESTROOMS</b>: We will have a couple portable restrooms at Marrott Park.  The Lowes Home Improvement store at our 20-mile drop off has restrooms available.  </p> <p><strong>ARRIVAL TIME / BUS PICK-UP</strong><br /><strong><u>20-miler Runners</u></strong> will need to arrive starting at 7:00 am to check-in and load the buses. <strong><u>The buses will leave at 7:30am SHARP</u>!</strong></p> <p><strong><u>12-mile Walkers (Early Departure)</u></strong> will need to arrive starting at 7:00am for a <span style="text-decoration:underline"><strong>PROMPT</strong></span> early departure at 7:30am to the 12 miles drop-off point.  This has been a nice addition for our Walkers to get a bit of a head start on the 12-mile distance.</p> <p><strong><u>12-mile Runners</u></strong> should arrive by 8:20am. Their buses will return from dropping off the 20 milers, load up the 12-milers, then leave the parking lot around 8:45 am.</p> <p><strong>STARTING LINE LOCATIONS</strong><br />20-milers will be bused to the Lowes at 146th in Carmel. The run will start at approximately 8:00 am, starting east to the Hagen-Burke Trail, then south connecting to the Monon from there.</p> <p>11-milers will be bused to Marrott Park in Broad Ripple. Indy Runners will have boxed lunches for all Run The Monon participants and Volunteers. With an option to just come out for Lunch Only, so even if you are not running, we’d love to have you come out and eat! We will begin eating around 11:00 am. </p> <p><strong>COST</strong> (to help cover the cost of buses, food, support along the route, etc.)<br />$20: Indy Runners and Indy Walkers members (includes run and lunch) - also discounts for our local Running Club friends with discount code.</p> <p>$30: Non-member (includes bus, run, and lunch afterward)<br />$10: Lunch only (Indy Runner or non-Indy Runner)</p> <p><strong>VOLUNTEERS</strong><br />We need a handful of folks to help us staff a couple water stops along the route.  If you are already tapering for your race (or maybe coming back from an injury), or raced already, it&#39;s definitely a fun time seeing everyone and volunteering to help.  Lunch is then on us for our Volunteers!</p> <p>Please write to Jennifer Courtney at <a href="mailto:medical&#64;indyrunners.org" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">runthemonon&#64;indyrunners.org</a> to let her know you can help out - or hit the VOLUNTEER tab above.
