<p>Join us for Lakewood Center’s Outrun Stigma 5k and be part of the movement to break the stigma surrounding mental illness.</p> <p>This chip-timed race with age group awards offers you the chance to make a direct impact on the essential services we provide, from long-term residential care to community integration support and groundbreaking therapeutic programs. Through our comprehensive care model, Lakewood Center empowers adults living with serious mental illness to grow, thrive, and achieve greater independence.</p> <p>Every step you take brings us closer to a future where mental health is embraced, understood, and supported by all.</p> <p><strong>DAY OF EVENT SCHEDULE</strong><br />7:00 AM - Registration &amp; Pre-Registrations Opens<br />7:45 AM - Warm-up<br />8:00 AM - 5K Race Start </p> <p><strong>T-SHIRTS</strong><br />Shirts are guaranteed for all pre-registered participants prior to 2/3/26. Once a shirt is sold out you will see sold out. Shirts are not guaranteed on race day.</p> <p><strong>AWARDS</strong><br />Awards will be provided to the top 3 Males and Top 3 Females and Top 3 in the following Age Groups: 6 &amp; under, 7-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74-75-79, 80-84,85-89, 90&#43;</p> <p><strong>REGISTRATION FEE - </strong>Listed on registration page.</p> <p><strong>DAY OF REGISTRATION &amp; PACKET PICK UP</strong><br />Packet pickup and registration will take place on race day at race site from 6:45 AM to 7:50 AM.</p> <p><strong>PARKING</strong><br />Parking is plentiful next to the race start location. The race starts and ends at the same location. </p> <p><strong>TIMING &amp; SCORING</strong><br />Race will be timed and scored with a disposable chip provided, which will be attached to the back of the bib.</p> <p><span style="font-size:18pt"><strong>FAQ</strong></span></p> <p><strong>How long is the course?</strong><br />The 5K is 3.1 miles.</p> <p><strong>How will I be timed?</strong><br />The race uses an electronic timing system that records race time and place via a transponder chip that will be given out at registration. Each individual competing in the 5K is required to use the race chip. Official times will not be recorded without a chip. There will be a clock at the finish line to view your time.</p> <p><strong>How will I receive my results?</strong><br />Official results are posted for the top runners in each category. Race staff has all results for on-site inquiries and results are posted on the race website.</p> <p><strong>Can I use my own race chip or tag rather than utilizing the one that is provided?</strong><br />No, you will be provided with a custom chip.</p> <p><strong>Who gets a T-shirt?</strong><br />Only pre-registered runners that successfully complete the registration and payment processes prior to 2/3/26 are guaranteed a race t-shirt. </p> <p><strong>What if I need help along the way?</strong><br />Qualified emergency medical professionals are available to provide assistance at the start/finish lines.</p> <p><strong>Can I participate in the event with my dog?</strong><br />Yes</p> <p><strong>Can I participate with a stroller?</strong><br />Yes, nurturing future generations of runners is a priority and demonstrating healthy lifestyles to our kids is special. Please, however, start in the latter part of the runners.</p> <p><strong>Should I bring my own water?</strong><br />Yes, but there will be a water station on the course as well as at the finish.</p> <p><strong>Can I get my money returned?</strong><br />We appreciate your race registration. We are unable to issue refunds. We are not in a position to credit your credit card or issue checks.</p> <p><strong>Will the race be held if it&#39;s raining?</strong><br />The race is a &#34;rain or shine&#34; event. All participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, such as in a rain coat or hat. Umbrellas can pose a safety hazard to others, so please do not bring them.</p> <p><strong>What will be provided after the race?</strong><br />An awards ceremony will take place after the race at the start/finish location.</p> <p><strong>Can I transfer my entry to someone else?</strong><br />We have a strict NO TRANSFER policy.</p>
