<p><strong>Join Us for the Wheeling Turkey Trot: 5K Run/Walk &amp; 1K Children&#39;s Fun Run!</strong></p> <p>Get ready to kick off your Thanksgiving celebrations with a spirited community event that supports the Wheeling Parks and Recreation mission: &#34;to build healthy communities through people, parks, and programs.” </p> <h4><strong>Event Details:</strong></h4> <ul><li><strong>Date:</strong> Thursday, November 27th</li><li><strong>Location:</strong> Alma Grace McDonough Center, Wheeling University Campus</li></ul> <h4><strong>Schedule:</strong></h4> <ul><li><strong>7:00 AM: </strong>Packet pickup and registration open at the McDonough Center</li><li><strong>8:30 AM:</strong> 1K Children’s Fun Run</li><li><strong>8:30 AM: </strong>Packet pickup and registration close</li><li><strong>8:45 AM: </strong>Begin to line up at the start</li><li><strong>9:00 AM:</strong> 5K Run and Walk</li></ul> <h4><strong>Exciting Extras:</strong></h4> <ul><li>Participants in the 5K will have a chance to win fantastic prizes in a random drawing.<br />- After the race, enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments inside the McDonough Center, where you can mingle with fellow participants and celebrate your accomplishments.</li><li>Long sleeve t-shirts are guaranteed for participants of the 5K who register by November 16th. Be sure to register early to claim your shirt!</li></ul> <p><strong>Virtual Participation: </strong>Can’t join us in person? No problem! Sign up as a &#34;Pardoned Turkey&#34; to participate virtually and secure a stylish event T-shirt. Your T-shirt will be available for pickup at packet pick-up, on race day at the McDonough Center, or at the Parks and Recreation office starting December 2nd.</p> <p><strong>Award Ceremony: </strong>Celebrate your achievements at our awards ceremony, held immediately after the race inside the McDonough Center.</p> <h4><strong>Packet Pick-Up Information: </strong></h4> <p><strong>Early Packet Pick-Up (Recommended):</strong> Pick up your race packet at the Parks and Recreation Office located at 10 Hunter Avenue, Wheeling, WV 26003 on the following dates:</p> <ul><li>Tuesday, November 25th 12 PM – 7 PM</li><li>Wednesday, November 26th 9 AM – 1 PM</li></ul> <p><strong>Day of Race Registration:</strong> Registration and packet pick-up will also be available at the McDonough Center from 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM on race day.</p> <p>Join us for a fun-filled morning of fitness, community spirit, and celebration!
