Scranton Half Marathon Race Information

<p> </p> <p>The <i><b>13th </b></i>edition of the Scranton Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, April 12, 2026, beginning and ending at PenFed Credit Union Field at Memorial Stadium. The goal of the race is to provide a superior event highlighting the local area and in doing so, bring increased exposure and revenue for local businesses. </p> <p> </p> <p>Please note the start times for the half marathon run (8:00 AM) and the half marathon walk (6:45 AM).</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>***BACK FOR 2026 - Run/Walk Category</strong></p> <p>We&#39;re pleased to offer a new run/walk category for the half marathon. Please select this option when registering if you plan on doing a combination of both running and walking on the course. As a run/walker, you will start at 8 AM with the run and will be timed as a runner. If you will be only walking the course, please select the Half Marathon Walk tab when registering. </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>**5k Run Cutoff time - </strong>In the interest of safety and to allow city streets to reopen as scheduled, there will be a 50 minute cutoff time for all participants in the 5k. This would be a 16 minute per mile pace. If you are unable to finish the race in this timeframe, your time will not be recorded. </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Virtual Half Marathon Run and Virtual Half Marathon Walk</strong></p> <ul><li>Run or walk the half marathon distance wherever you&#39;d like between April 11 and April 12, 2026.</li><li>Submit your time to <a href="mailto:scrantonhalfresults&#64;gmail.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">scrantonhalfresults&#64;gmail.com</a> to be included in the virtual results</li><li>Cost is $55 and includes bib, finisher shirt, medal, and finisher gift</li><li>Pickup your virtual race swag during expo hours on Friday, April 10 from 5 to 8 PM or Saturday, April 11 from 11 AM to 5 PM</li><li>If you live outside of the NEPA area, your race swag will be mailed to you during the week of April 13, 2026.</li><li>Virtual race participants are not eligible for any age group awards or cash prizes</li><li><i>Please note that if you register for the virtual run or walk, you are unable to transfer your registration to the in-person event</i></li></ul> <p><strong>Half Marathon Walk!  </strong></p> <ul><li>Begins at 6:45am.</li><li>Fully chip timed.</li><li>Finishers receive Half Marathon Medal and Finisher&#39;s Gift.</li><li>Awards to the Overall Male and Overall Female finishers.</li><li>Aid stations for the walk begin with the mile 7.5 station.  </li><li>This is a <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline">walk only</span></strong>, and participants are not permitted to engage in running during the event if registered for the walk.</li><li><span style="text-decoration:underline"><strong>***Walkers must stay on the sidewalks until the lead police vehicle comes by at which point the course will be fully secure***</strong></span></li><li>Please note that due to course safety restrictions, the Doherty Double is not walk friendly.</li></ul> <p><b>Kid&#39;s Fun Run!</b></p> <p>Participants will receive a bib, and finisher medal. The 1/4 mile runs will start at approximately 8:15 AM on race morning.
