RRRC Sweetheart 8K Race Information

<p>The RRRC Sweetheart 8K is an annual Richmond Road Runners Club event that for 2026 offers two options for Valentine’s Day running or walking.</p> <p><strong> New for 2026:</strong><br />We are excited to announce that this year’s Sweetheart 8K has been selected as the RRCA National Championship for “Other Distance.”</p> <p>The Sweetheart 8K will be an in-person race on Sunday, February 15, featuring a scenic 8K (5 mile) course through The Grove and Walton Park communities, historic Midlothian Coal Mine Park, and the surrounding roads and trails. The race starts and finishes at the Urban Farmhouse in The Millworks in Midlothian.</p> <p>The Virtual Sweetheart 8K will allow you to run when, where, and with whom you please from Friday, Feb. 14 to Monday, Feb. 17. You may post your results between Friday, Feb. 13 and Monday, Feb. 16.</p> <p>Both events are RRRC Grand Prix (GP) events for 2026. RRRC GP participants receive a race point for posting a time for either event. RRRC GP participants in the in-person race will receive place points based on overall and/or age-group finish times.</p> <p>This year will also include a raffle for all registered participants and a Team Costume Contest, so bring your best Valentine’s Day spirit!</p> <p><strong> Important Deadlines:</strong><br />There is a hard deadline of February 1st to guarantee Sweetheart 8K shirts and buffs for 2026. Please register before this date if you want race swag included.</p> <p><strong> Packet Pick-Up:</strong><br />Packet pick-up will take place at Lucky Road Running Store – Willow Lawn on Saturday February 14th. More details will be emailed to participants as race weekend approaches.</p> <p><strong>NOTE:</strong> Details provided below about packet pick-up and race day activities are tentative and subject to change. Registered participants will receive updated information a few days before the race.</p>
