Regency Mile Race Information

<p>The Regency Mile, along with the 5 &amp; Under 400m Express Run, has held the record for the largest timed youth road race in Richmond for 15 years!  With both in-person and virtual race options, an adult race, condensed start times, and a fall festival, this event provides a family-friendly day of racing.</p> <p>The course is entirely closed to traffic and encircles Regency Square Mall.  This year, we have a kid’s mile, parent’s mile, and a 400m race for ages 5 &amp; under.  After the race, make sure to stick around and enjoy our Fall Festival complete with candy, games, activities from our sponsors, and more!</p> <p>The races are organized into a series of heats (or waves) based on <strong>age and gender</strong> to keep each race competitive and fun for everyone. When you register, you’ll automatically be assigned to the correct heat for your age group.</p> <p>Each heat has a <strong>specific start time, and it’s important to run in the heat you’re assigned to in order to be eligible for awards</strong>.</p> <p>There’s also an Elite Wave that kicks off the event, using an “equalizer” format—women start first, followed shortly by men—and the first person across the finish line wins the top prize.</p> <p>You can view the full heat schedule and start times <a href="https://runsignup.com/Race/RVARegencyMile/Page-8" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here</a>.</p> <p><strong>Be sure to register on or before 10/16 to be guaranteed a race t-shirt!</strong></p> <p>As part of the Regency Mile, cash awards are given to area schools to help with their Physical Education programs, and each year, the competition is fierce!  Learn more <a href="https://runsignup.com/Race/RVARegencyMile/Page-6" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here!</a></p>
