5K Walk for Water

Join us for Walk for Water 2025 at Crapo Park in Burlington, IA, a meaningful 5K walk to raise awareness and critical funds for YouthWorld Africa’s Clean Water Initiative. This life-changing campaign provides sustainable water purification systems to underserved families across Southern Africa.

🌍 Why We Walk

In many parts of Southern Africa, women and children walk an average of 5 kilometers (over 3 miles) every day to fetch water. Tragically, that water is often contaminated with life-threatening bacteria and pollutants. This daily journey robs children of an education, puts women at risk, and leaves entire communities vulnerable to preventable diseases.

You can help change that.

💧 The Cause

All proceeds from the Walk for Water will be directed to YouthWorld Africa’s Clean Water Initiative, which provides long-lasting, high-efficiency water filters to families in need. Each filter costs just $50 and provides up to 10 years of clean, safe drinking water for an entire household.
