<p><strong>WELCOME TO THE VIENNA TURKEY TROT!!</strong></p> <p>The James Madison High School Band will be hosting the <strong>23rd Annual Vienna Turkey Trot 5K/10K and Fun Run</strong>. All proceeds benefit the JMHS &#34;Pride of Vienna&#34; Band and the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department.<br /><br />Join us for a great run and super music by our JMHS Band! Wear your best turkey and holiday gear. Enjoy race snacks and refreshments after the race.<br /><br /><strong>Date: </strong> <br />Sunday, November 23, 2025 (Sunday before Thanksgiving)<br /><br /><strong>Location: </strong><br />Vienna Volunteer Fire Department<br />400 Center Street South<br />Vienna, VA 22180</p> <p><strong>Race Times:</strong><br />8:00 am: Kids Fun Run<br />8:30 am: 5K/10K</p> <p><br /><strong>Fees:</strong><br />5k Run: $40 through October 20 <br />              $45 October 21 through race day</p> <p>10k run: $45 through October 20 <br />              $50 October 21 until race day</p> <p>Kids&#39; Fun Run: $20</p> <p>Parents do not need to register to run with their children in the Fun Run, but they are welcome to do so.<br /><br /><strong>NOTE:</strong> Runners registering after 11/3/2025 are not guaranteed a T-shirt. Runners who register after 11/3/2025 may check after the race to see if extra shirts are available.</p> <p>Online registration will remain open through Race Day, November 23 at 8:00 am. All registrations must be done online.<br /><br />Packet Pick Up: SAVE YOURSELF A WAIT IN LINE ON RACE DAY: Register online and pick up your packet on Friday and Saturday before the race!</p> <p>Friday, November 21, 2025<br />Location: Vienna Community Center, 120 Cherry Street SE, Vienna, VA<br />Time: 5PM - 8PM<br /><br />Saturday, November 22, 2025<br />Location: Road Runner Sports, 1120 West Broad Street, Falls Church<br />Time: 10AM-2PM<br />Special in-store discount for all racers picking up on Saturday!</p> <p>Race Day, Sunday, November 23, 2025<br />Location: Vienna Volunteer Fire Department, 400 Center St, Vienna, VA (Second Floor)<br />Time: 7:00am to 8:00 am<br /><br />Online Race registration will close at 8:00am<br /><br /><strong>Awards </strong>are three deep for male/female winners, in the following age groups: 0-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80&#43;.<br /><br /><strong>RUNNER INSTRUCTIONS</strong></p> <ul><li>Start Time &amp; Timing<br />To receive an official time for the 5K or 10K, you must start by 8:30 AM. The start line will remain open for only 5 minutes after the official gun start. Runners who start late will not receive an official time.</li><li>Important: If you arrive late, do not enter the finish line area unless you have completed your full race.</li></ul> <p><strong>Race Day Arrival Tips<br /></strong></p> <ul><li>Arrive early to allow time for parking and walking to the start.</li><li>Picking up your bib on race day? Arrive at least 30 minutes early.</li><li>Finish Line Etiquette: Keep moving through the finish chute—don’t stop or wait inside for friends/family. This helps avoid congestion and keeps everyone safe.<br /><br /></li></ul> <p><strong>10K Participants:</strong> If you decide to change to the 5K, please do so prior to the start of the race, You can email <a href="mailto:terri&#64;prrunandwalk.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">terri&#64;prrunandwalk.com</a> to make the distance change (ideally), make the change when you pick up your packet, or let the timers know prior to the race. <br /><br />Timing Chips (ChronoTrack B-Tag): Chips are attached to the back of your bib. To ensure accurate timing:</p> <ul><li>Wear your bib on the front of your torso</li><li>Don’t fold, wrinkle, or modify your bib</li><li>Pin it in all four corners</li><li>Keep it visible (no jackets or belts covering it)</li><li>Wear the correct bib assigned to you</li></ul>
