Veterans Day 5

Celebrate Veterans Day 2025 with the 6th annual Veterans Day 5, starting and finishing at the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids on Saturday, November 8!  Offering timed 5 mile and 5K runs, along with a no charge, untimed .5 mile Remembrance Walk, the Veterans Day 5 will benefit the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids. Commemorate Veterans Day by participating in or volunteering for the Veterans Day 5, and get to know some of Grand Rapids' very own veterans!  

The SpartanNash Community Pancake Breakfast will take place in the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids' Bistro and be available from 8:30a-11:30a, complimentary for all registered 5 mile and 5k participants, and volunteers; $5 donation for all others.

Special thanks to Zero Day for acting as the fiduciary for the Veterans Day 5. They will donate 100% of the event proceeds and donations to the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids following the event. And special thanks to myTeam Triumph - West Michigan Chapter for coordinating Angels to push some of the Home's residents as Captains in the 5k run on event day. Event check-in will take place beginning at 7:15 am on Saturday, November 8 at the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids (2950 Monroe Avenue NE). Please enter off Monroe Avenue to find parking behind the Home or off Coit to find parking at Sunshine Community Church (3019 Coit Ave NE, Grand Rapids 49505). Once parked, you'll walk to the Home and enter through the front door or back door (depending on where you parked) for check-in/registration in the Chapel and the post-event SpartanNash Community Pancake Breakfast in the Bistro. 

Courses

All events will start and finish behind the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids in front of the cemetary arches. The courses will be marked with arrows displayed on yard signs and course copies will be available at event check-in/registration on Saturday, November 8.

• 7:15a: Event Check-in and Late Registration
• 8:30a: 5 Mile 
• 8:45a: myTeam Triumph 5K
• 8:50a: 5K
• 8:55a: .5 mile walk
• 11:30a: SpartanNash Community Pancake Breakfast concludes

PLEASE NOTE:  Participant shirts will be ordered to size for all those registered by 11:59 pm on Thursday, October 30.  Those who register after 11:59 pm on October 30 will not receive a shirt but will have the option for their entry to be discounted by $5. To receive this discount, simply email Kristen at kristen.aidif@greventmanage.com after you have registered. This is being done so as much money as possible can be raised through this event to support quality of life activities for our local veterans living at the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids. $4,150 was raised through the 2024 event for the Home's Charitable Support Fund!
