About Twining: An Introduction

Twining simplifies the weaving process and is easy to learn. It is primarily used for rugs or wall art and eliminates investment in costly and complicated looms. We will create a 12” x 18” table topper as we explore techniques for larger rugs. Though any fabric can be used, cotton is the best for new students of Twining to use. Twining is an excellent craft for up cycling worn clothing, sheets, or remnants. If you happen to be a quilter, it is a wonderful way to tame your scrap bin. If the fabric can be torn into long strips it can be used. Supplies are minimal. You will need fabric; sharp sewing scissors that will allow you to make a small snip in fabric. A clothespin or potato chip bag clip to hold the warp in place and the mat sized loom, which will be available on the first day of class for $10.
