<p><strong>Run for a cause: Texas Strong 5k </strong><br />Lace up your running shoes and join us in supporting our neighbors in the Texas Hill Country.  The Texas Strong 5k is a fun-filled event for runners, walkers, families, and even our furry friends. Whether you&#39;re a seasoned runner aiming for a personal best or simply want to enjoy a leisurely stroll with loved ones, we have options for you! Pick from a paved or trail option.  These 3.1-mile courses offer a beautiful setting to get active and make a difference. The 5K will be professionally chip-timed by Split Second Productions.<br /> <br /><strong>Highlights</strong><br />Scenic Route: Experience the beauty of San Antonio&#39;s outdoors as you navigate the carefully planned course through McAllister Park.<br />Support a Worthy Cause: Every step you take and every dollar you raise directly benefits the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country and those affected by the recent flooding.<br />Family-Friendly Atmosphere: Bring the whole family – kids and strollers are welcome!  Please plan to start in the back if you are running/walking with a stroller<br />Pet-Friendly Event: Well-behaved and leashed dogs are also encouraged to join the fun.  Please be mindful that the road course will be an out and so your furry friend must stay on a short leash close to you.<br />Celebrate with Us: Following the race, enjoy cold beverages from Karbach Brewing, 21 and up only<br />Join the event on Sunday, August 10th at 7:30am at McAllister Park, pavilion 5, to positively impact the lives of those impacted by the recent  Hill Country flooding. Together, we can help those areas rebuild.<br /> <br /><strong>Additional information</strong><br /><strong>Packet Pickup</strong>: Friday August 8th and Saturday August 9th at iRun Bitters from 11am-6pm.  Race day at McAllister Park pavilion 5, 6:30am-7:15am<br /><strong>Awards</strong>: Overall male/female winners for both trail and road will win a pair of shoes from Hoka! In order to reduce expenses and maximize our ability to give to the cause, this race will not have age group awards.<br /><strong>Volunteer Opportunities</strong>: For those interested in helping out, setting up a booth or donating please email kirsten&#64;iruntexas.com<br /><strong>Swag</strong>: In order to reduce expenses and maximize our ability to give to the cause, this race will not have finisher&#39;s medals. T-shirts will be available for purchase for $25 through the race registration add-on and online race store.
