Southern Grit Endurance Challenge Race Information

Welcome to Southern Grit Endurance Challenge

Located in south-central Kentucky, Southern Grit takes place in a landscape where rugged hills meet gently rolling terrain — a natural transition between the Appalachian Plateau and the Bluegrass region. Nestled in the distinctive “Knobs” region, steep wooded hills rise dramatically from fertile farmland, creating a striking and scenic backdrop. The race unfolds in the small community of Butchertown, in northern Casey County.

Race Overview

Southern Grit offers 3-, 6-, 12-, and 24-hour races, along with 3-, 6-, 12-, 24 hour ruck events, promising a true test for athletes of all backgrounds and abilities. This spectator-friendly event invites runners, families, and friends to enjoy an unforgettable weekend of endurance, camaraderie, and fun.

Main Aid Station

At the main station, you’ll find all the essentials — water, electrolytes, and classic aid station snacks — plus delicious hot food you won’t want to miss.

If you prefer self-aid, you’re in luck — you’ll pass your tent or vehicle on every loop, making it easy to grab your own food, gear, and supplies without stepping off the course.
