<p><strong>Event Information:</strong></p> <p> 36th Annual Shadow of the Giants 20k &amp; 50k<br />Experience the Magic of the Sierra National Forest<br />Join us for the 36th Annual Shadow of the Giants 20k &amp; 50k, an unforgettable race through the scenic and historic trails of the Sierra National Forest. </p> <p><strong>Time Limit for 50k</strong>: 8 hours - 9hours with an Early Start</p> <p><strong>Important Notice</strong>: Pets are not allowed on the trail, so please leave your furry friends at home.</p> <p><strong>Pre-Race Accommodations and Dinner</strong><br />For those interested, we are offering the option to stay onsite the night before the race on Friday, June 6th at Camp Green Meadows in the dorms. Additionally, join us for our traditional pre-race lasagna dinner on Friday, June 5th at approximately 5:45 PM in the Green Meadows Dining Hall.</p> <p><strong>Race Day Schedule</strong><br />50k Start Time: 7:00 AM<br />20k Start Time: 7:15 AM<br /><strong>Early Starts Available</strong>: 6:00 AM (Early starters are not eligible for overall awards, they are eligible for Age Group Awards)</p> <p><strong>Course Information</strong><br />Detailed course maps and updates will be provided, closer to the race day</p> <p><strong>Aid Stations:</strong> Located roughly 5-7 miles apart, our aid stations will be well-stocked with food, Gels, Electrolyte drink, water, Coca-Cola, ginger ale, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks.</p> <p><strong>Guidelines:</strong></p> <p>No pacers.<br />No dogs.<br /><br />Poles are permitted.<br />Fun and smiles are mandatory!</p> <p><strong>Post-Race Celebration</strong><br />After the race, you’re invited to hang out at Green Meadows to cheer on fellow runners. Post-race food and beverages will be provided in the Dining Hall. Bring a chair, a pop-up tent or umbrella, and enjoy the camaraderie.</p> <p><strong>BIB Pickup</strong></p> <p>When: Friday, June 5th<br />Time: 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM<br />Where: Camp Green Meadows Outdoor School in Fish Camp, CA, in the Cafeteria<br />Race Day Bib Pick-Up:</p> <p>When: Saturday, June 6th<br />Time: 5:40 AM - 6:45 AM<br />Where: Cafeteria at Camp Green Meadow Outdoor School<br />Note: No pets or dogs are allowed on the Green Meadows Campus, except for service animals.</p> <p><strong>Staying at Camp Green Meadows</strong><br />Arrival: Do not arrive before 1:15 PM on Friday, June 5th<br />Check-In: Begins at 1:30 PM in the Cafeteria. Bunks are first-come, first-served. No check-ins after 8:00 PM.<br /><strong>What to Bring</strong>: Bedding, pillow, sleeping bag/blankets<br />Shared Space Etiquette: Respect others and keep noise levels down. Quiet time starts at 9:00 PM.<br />Facilities: Showers and restrooms available onsite.<br />Trash: All trash must be removed before departure.<br /><strong>Camping:</strong> Tent camping is not allowed on campus. There is dispersed camping in the area. <br /><strong>Parking:</strong> Large or oversized vehicles like RVs are not permitted on campus. You may park on nearby Forest Service Roads.</p> <p><strong>Pre-Race Dinner</strong><br />If you’ve purchased a ticket for our pre-race dinner, it will start around 5:45 PM - 6:00 PM in the Cafeteria at Camp Green Meadows. The dinner will include lasagna, salad, bread, and drinks. No additional tickets will be sold as meals are prepared based on pre-orders.</p> <p><strong>Parking Guidelines</strong><br />Do Not Block Roadways: Ensure clear access in and out of Green Meadows.<br />Parking Locations: Once the parking lot at Green Meadows is full, you may park on the shoulder of the camp entrance or on the dirt road shoulder just before the camp entrance. Do not block roadways.<br /><strong>Alternative Parking</strong>: You may park off Jackson Road near the final turn down onto the single track that leads to the finish line. It’s a pleasant half-mile walk from there with no parking issues.<br /><strong>Changing Distances</strong><br />You may switch to the 20k distance at any time up until race day. Changes can be made at bib pick-up or at the timing tent at the start/finish area.</p> <p><strong>Course Cutoff</strong><br />The cutoff time for completing the 50k course is 3:00 PM. Early starters (6:00 AM start) have until 3:00 PM to finish, giving them a total of 9 hours.</p> <p><strong>Start Times for Saturday, June 6th, 2026</strong><br />50k Early Start: 6:00 AM (Please be self-sufficient until Aid Station #2)<br />50k Regular Start: 7:00 AM<br />20k Start: 7:15 AM<br /><br /></p>
