The second annual Rock Solid Marathon and Half Marathon (RSM) will take place on Saturday, February 28 at 8:00 am PST in Coupeville, Washington on Whidbey Island. Both races feature an unforgettable course with winding coastal roads and scenic trails. The races start and finish at the historic Captain Whidbey Inn, a beautiful wooden lodge on Penn Cove that dates to 1907. The course will first take runners along scenic Madrona Way into the heart of Coupeville, across the island over to the rugged beauty Ebey's Landing, and through the Kettles Trail System's windy paths. The Half Marathon will then return to the Captain Whidbey, while the Marathon will then take on a few miles of natural beach and the meandering country roads of Whidbey Island, and finally along Penn Cove back to the finish. All runners will receive a custom race t-shirt and finisher medal.
The Captain Whidbey Inn will serve as race headquarters all weekend, and runners and their families are invited to book discounted rooms in their historic lodge using this link: https://tinyurl.com/RSMLodge. The lodge's acclaimed restaurant will also host a pre-race breakfast, and a celebratory dinner on Saturday evening where we will recap race stories, make toasts and give out unique race awards.
