The River Ridge 5k was created in memory of River Scantland, the beloved son of Camp Tipton directors, Noah and Isabella Scantland. Though River’s time on earth was brief, his life serves as a powerful reminder of God’s love, faithfulness, and the lasting impact one life can have. Noah and Isabella’s deep love for camp comes from their belief that one week at camp can change a life forever—and they desire for every child to have that opportunity, regardless of the barriers they may face.
This Trail run/walk is held each October on the Camp Tipton trail system, in River’s honor to provide scholarship to families the need assistance whether financial, personal, or circumstantial by covering up to 50% of camp registration costs as funds allow. Just as a river carves out new paths and brings life, the funds from this run/walk exists to open doors for campers to experience adventure, community, and love.
Each Participant will receive a event T-shirt, race bib, and a ticket entry into a raffle for a bag of camp Tipton Merch including 2 t shirts, a hat, 3 different stickers, a 50% off voucher for a week at camp.
