Mount Wilson Trail 5K Recovery Run
Organizer's Description
Due to the devastating effects of the Eaton Fire and subsequent rains on the Mount Wilson Trail (MWT), this year's 2025 Mount Wilson running event has moved to Saturday, October 4, 2025 and will offer a road 5K Run, a Kids' Fun Run, vendor booths at Kersting court, a free photo booth, and a beer garden to celebrate Octoberfest. This event aims to unite our community and raise awareness about the crucial repairs needed to restore the MWT to its race-ready state.
Join us in donating to the Fletcher Trail Maintenance Fund, which supports our dedicated Trail Maintenance Crew volunteers with the necessary equipment, materials, supplies and tools. Your donation is greatly appreciated and makes a real difference for this historic trail running event and community!
Our History: The Mt. Wilson Trail Race is one of the oldest trail races in California, the Mt. Wilson Trail Race takes you 8.6 miles from Kersting Court in Sierra Madre to Orchard Camp and back. The elevation gain is over 2160 feet on a winding course that changes regularly due to fire, earthquakes, and erosion. The original path, first used by the Gabrielino Indians, was dug out by Benjamin "Don Benito" Wilson in 1864.
