The JSF Memorial 5K honors the life and legacy of Joey Elissetche—who lost his short, courageous battle with Cholangiocarcinoma at just 30 years old. Diagnosed only 1 month before his passing—following 3 months of misdiagnoses—Joey’s story, like too many others, is a heartbreaking reminder of how this rare and aggressive cancer often goes undetected until it’s too late.
Held during Liver Cancer Awareness Month, this event honors not only Joey, but all those who have been impacted by forms of liver cancers like Cholangiocarcinoma. Together, we run to raise awareness, advance research, and bring hope to families in the Valley and beyond.
Whether you run, walk, or simply show up in solidarity, your participation helps support the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation and brings vital attention to a disease too often overlooked—especially in communities like the Valley.
We encourage all participants and families to wear shirts in honor of loved ones affected by cholangiocarcinoma, liver cancer, and its many forms. Let’s come together in remembrance, unity, and action—as we transform grief into purpose and love into lasting impact.
