The Jameson 5K at Southwestern began in 2001 as a way of honoring the memory of Jaysn Flynn Jameson and to increase the endowment of the Jaysn Jameson Memorial Scholarship Fund at Southwestern University. Each year of the race our goal is to improve upon the last year and build the race to a premiere event for the University and Georgetown. This year for the 25th Annual Race we hope to have a BIG turnout and to raise more than $40K to donate to the Jaysn Jameson Memorial Scholarship Fund so that we can reach our goal of a total of $300K donated from the race proceeds. This amount is twice as much as we have been able to donate in a single year.
The 25th Annual event will be a trail race using the Cross-Country Course on the campus of Southwestern University on Saturday, October 25, 2025 and the virtual event where each participant will be able to run the 5K or walk the 1 Mile on any route, in any city at any time that is convenient for them during the 3-day weekend of Friday, October 24th – Sunday, October 26th, 2025. The Mosey is a self-guided route that will be around the campus of Southwestern University. Virtual participants will need to time themselves so that they can report the times to allow for the results to be posted. We will again have the 5K event timed for trophies to be able to be presented during the post-race party. Door prizes can only be given out to in-person participants on Saturday morning. The Silent Auction will still be held the morning of the event Saturday, October 25, 2025. (Bids can be accepted starting Friday, October 24 during packet pickup.) A separate Silent Auction will occur during the afternoon and Picnic of Homecoming.
