About HOWL-O-WEEN Hairy and Scary Fest Zombie Run 2.5k / 5k

Prepare yourself to run (or walk) for your lives! This will be a charity 5k with all proceeds going to Lucky Dawg Rescue Inc. This will be taking place on Saturday, October 25th. There will be a 2.5/5K Jog With Your Dawg fun run at 9am, a Pet Fair Adoption Event with local shelters at 10 am, a dog and dog/human duo costume contest at 12 pm, and the Zombie 5K Run at 1 pm. Music throughout the events provided by DJ Peace Productions and a live band from 2-4 pm provided by Now You Know Blues Band.

There will be zombies! Zombies, you say? Zombie zones and safe zones along the trail. Oh yes, ZOMBIES!

Unfortunately, for the safety of racers and dogs, we will not allow dogs in the Zombie race event.

If you decide to bring your animal for watching, they must be leashed at all times and not on the race route during the race.

BASIC SURVIVAL
Before the race, you will be given flags just like the overly intimidating game of flag football. These flags represent your health.

The zombies want to take your flags and maybe eat your brains.
If you lose all your health flags, you will be considered infected!
If you finish with a flag, you will be awarded with the survivor prize.

*NOTE* If you form and run with a TEAM, and if any member of that team survives with a flag, the 1st ENTIRE team to finish with a flag receives the "Survivor" medal!  The perfect reason to recruit your friends! Teams must consist of no more/less than 3 members.

NOTE There will be medals for 1st-3rd for the individual that crosses the finish line with any flags left.

WHAT YOU’RE UP AGAINST
There will be zombies. Their job is to chase you and eat you — but mainly go after your health, in the form of your flag belt. Avoid the zombies to keep your health flags.
Use speed, strategy and your intact brains to make it to the FINISH LINE “alive” with at least ONE FLAG INTACT. If you finish with zero health flags, this means the zombies have successfully transformed you into the “undead”. There will be a start line, and a finish line, and the opportunity to avoid Zombies in between.
