<p style="line-height:1.5">Established in 2006, the Hawthorn Half Day Relay &amp; Ultra is a one-of-a-kind endurance event welcoming runners and walkers of all levels. In 2026, we’re proud to celebrate our <strong>20th anniversary</strong>—and we’d love for you to be part of it!</p> <p style="line-height:1.5">Choose between a <strong>6-hour</strong> or <strong>12-hour</strong> race, both starting at <strong>7:00 a.m</strong>. Participants compete on a scenic <strong>5K</strong> loop of trail and road. To ensure every lap counts, a ½-<strong>mile short course</strong> will be available during the final 30 minutes of the race.</p> <p><strong>Race Categories</strong></p> <ul><li style="line-height:1.5"><strong>6-Hour: </strong>Solo or Teams of 3</li><li style="line-height:1.5"><strong>12-Hour:</strong> Solo, Teams of 2, or Teams of 3–6</li></ul> <p style="line-height:1.5">Whether you’re running solo, walking laps, or relaying with friends, there’s a category for you.</p> <p style="line-height:1.5"><strong>The Course &amp; Runners Village</strong><br />Every loop brings you through<strong> Runners Village</strong>, where you’ll have a designated space for your <strong>tent, crew, and gear</strong>. You’ll also pass <strong>Race Headquarters</strong>, fully stocked with cold drinks, snacks, and essentials to keep you fueled all day.</p> <p style="line-height:1.5">Campgrounds along the course will be open for optional camping and include<strong> restrooms and water stations</strong>. This setup makes Hawthorn Half Day especially family- and crew-friendly—plenty of chances to cheer runners on lap after lap!</p> <p><strong>What Can You Do in Half a Day?</strong></p> <p>At Hawthorn Half Day, there is no set distance, only time, movement, and community. Take one lap or many. Set a goal or let the day unfold.</p> <p>This race is about showing up, sharing miles, and finding your rhythm together.</p> <p style="line-height:1.5">Go solo or team up. Run, walk, or shuffle your way through as many miles as you can.
