About Good Samaritan 5K Run

19th Annual Good Samaritan Cross Training 5K

Date and Time: October 11th, 2025, 8am

Get Excited as our 19th Annual Ministry Fundraiser offers Greenville their 11th Annual Cross
Training 5K Race!!  Hope of Glory and CrossFit Greenville are proud to continue the challenging
Cross Training 5K to benefit families throughout Pitt County. Please join us as we blend our
Annual 5K race with Cross Training exercises into a beautiful course beginning at Uptown
Greenville, towards the Town Common and back up 5th Street, running by East Carolina
University.

GO Pirates!

Our race offers the option to runners to run a regular 5K, for families to walk a 5K together, or
those who like to step up their fitness level can participate in the 6 cross training stations
guided by coaches from CrossFit Greenville.  These stations are placed throughout the 5K run
and require a completion of specific exercises with multiple repetitions. Any weight exercises
will be adjusted based on fitness level and weight requirements. Heats will be used to separate
beginner, intermediate, and advance cross training levels.
Proceeds will help Hope of Glory Ministries in their mission to relieve burdens, empower
families, and proclaim Christ throughout our community!

RACE INITIATIVE:
Hope of Glory Ministries was founded in 2001 as a 501 (c)(3) Christ‐centered community
outreach ministry. A large focus of our ministry is helping those in Pitt County who live at or
beneath the level of poverty. It is estimated that 21.4% of Pitt County residents live beneath the
poverty level ($36,000 for household of 4). Based on US Census 2019 estimates, this translates
into about 39,000 people. Our Community Food Co-op Program is moving families towards
financial stability by providing healthy fresh and non-perishable foods twice a month. With an
estimated $375 savings each month, families are paired with mentors and set goals to
redistribute the saved money towards debts, an emergency fund or savings account.

Our 2024 Impact Report:

Average household income of our Community Co-op families is $32,000.
In 2024, The Community Co-op Program served 31 families and relieved $111,628 in grocery
savings.
483 mentor/education hours attended by families
59 volunteer hours
$13,950 invested by families into program
$86,712 placed into savings accounts by families
$137,771 was paid on debts by families
