Join us Thanksgiving morning for the 49th Annual Y Doug Opel’s Run for the Kids — a festive tradition that brings families, friends, and flocks of all kinds together for a morning of movement, memories, and meaningful giving.
Round up your crew and hit the starting line! Whether you're a family of five or a group of coworkers in matching turkey hats, we've got two special awards waiting for you:
- Family Flock Award – Gather your relatives and race as a unit! The more family members you sign up, the better your chances of snagging this coveted honor.
- Gobbler Gallop Award – Not racing with family? No problem! Rally your run club, work squad, or trivia team—any group with a fun connection—for a shot at this spirited award.
Why We Run: Every registration helps sponsor a local at-risk child in the YMCA Youth Sports Program. Lace up for a cause and make a difference in a kid's life.

Chip-timed for 1 hour and 15 minutes after the start
