The MLK Unity Walk/5K Run is in collaboration with the City of Southaven and supported by the Southaven Mayor’s office, Mayor’s Youth Council, Mayor of Walls, Mayor of Olive Branch, local churches and citizens of DeSoto County.  This event began as a small walk but has grown into an annual tradition and since has expanded into a 5K Run/Unity Walk. The 5K is now an officially sanctioned event of USA Track and Field. Its purpose is to celebrate unity among peers and the value added by asking all ethnic groups to recognize the ties that bind us all together with people from all walks of life to work together as one group.

Our goal is to raise awareness and funds for the Precious Pearls Foundation. Proceeds will assist the foundation in providing support to deserving students in the DeSoto County Area, to prevent birth defect and infant mortality, provide services to the elderly and support to our veterans. PPF also supports our charity partner-Feed My Lambs.
