DeRidder Back Roads Half Race Information

<p><span style="color:#236fa1">Its time to hit the training trails!  The 5th annual Back Roads not-so-typical half marathon is approaching.  We are proud to be able to bring this to our area once again.  This year, we continue to have the 10K and a one mile fun run race along with the half marathon.  So, come with us as we take you on the back roads tour through the historic countryside of DeRidder.  No heavy traffic, no red lights; just fence lines, farm life, and a couple railroad tracks along the twists and turns of our back roads.  We are proud once again to be able to support Samaritan&#39;s Purse Disaster Relief Efforts.  So many communities in Southwest Louisiana were devastated in 2020, on more than one occasion, and they were here for us.  It&#39;s our turn to give back!  </span></p> <p><span style="color:#236fa1">Here are a few things to remember:</span></p> <ul><li><span style="color:#236fa1">Kids are welcome to run the mile long &#34;Fun Run&#34; but if they are under the age of 13, will need to have an adult at the finish line to supervise them.  </span></li><li><span style="color:#236fa1">All spectators will need to stay clear of the road and not interfere with runners/walkers, especially at the finish line.  </span></li><li><span style="color:#236fa1">Once you finish the race, there will be water, Gatorades and other refreshments available free for participants. </span></li><li><span style="color:#236fa1">There will be top male and female placement awards for all 3 races.</span> <ul><li><span style="color:#236fa1">Half Marathon</span></li><li><span style="color:#236fa1">10K</span></li><li><span style="color:#236fa1">Fun Run, 1 mile </span><span style="color:#236fa1"></span></li></ul> </li><li><span style="color:#236fa1">Roads will only be secured for a <b>limited time</b>. If you choose to walk the 13.1 we ask that you walk at a brisk pace for the duration of the race. </span></li><li><span style="color:#236fa1">No pets; we don&#39;t want to invite unwanted pets to run after our participants. This race is through the back roads and rural areas. There may be a few loose dogs along the route. We do our best to raise awareness and to inform the neighborhoods of our upcoming event.</span></li><li><span style="color:#236fa1">All finishers will receive a t-shirt if registered by December 2.  If registered after December 2nd, then T-shirts will be on a first come basis but not guaranteed. </span></li><li><span style="color:#236fa1">If you would like to be a sponsor please email us.  Sponsors of $100&#43; will be listed on shirts.</span></li><li><span style="color:#236fa1">You will receive an email outlining the route the week before the race</span></li><li><span style="color:#236fa1">Check us out on Facebook; just search for...
