Courage to Thrive 5K Walk/Run

Join us for a powerful morning of movement, community, and purpose at the inaugural Courage to Thrive 5K Walk/Run Fundraiser. Whether you're walking, jogging, or running—your steps will support something much bigger than the finish line.

What It’s About

This event is hosted by The Courage to Thrive, an upstart organization dedicated to supporting individuals affected by cancer. All proceeds will go toward helping participants access integrative cancer conferences, healing workshops, and unconventional testing not typically covered by insurance. Our goal is to remove financial barriers and provide hope through education, empowerment, and healing resources.  

*Disclaimer: The Courage to Thrive is an upstart organization and is in the process of applying to become a non-profit, but is NOT currently a 501(c)(3).  Donations will be accepted but are not tax deductible. The proceeds of this event will be used in the formation of the 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization and for the initial objectives of the organization in 2026.   

Who Can Join?

Everyone! This event is open to all ages and all fitness levels. Bring your Thrive Tribe and walk or run in honor of those who have faced cancer, are currently in treatment, or are thriving after diagnosis.

Event Information:

Parking: 

The race will begin next to parking lot 25 of Bolsa Chica State Beach, which is the last lot on the north end of the beach, and is near the intersection of Warner and Pacific Coast Highway 1.  

The entrance to the State Beach parking lots, including Lot 25, is located approximately 1.5 miles south of the parking lot itself, off Pacific Coast Highway. To reach Parking Lot 25 you must use the main State Beach entrance, pay for parking, and then turn right, heading north towards the intersection of PCH and Warner Ave to find Lot 25.  Parking is $20 per vehicle and can be paid with cash, card or apple pay. 

We recommend arriving at least 45–60 minutes before your race start to allow time for parking, bib pickup (if needed), and warm-up. 

Registration and packet pickup (7a.m.): 

Registration and packet pickup (including your bib) will be located near the starting line of the race and will open at 7a.m.  If you are having someone else pick up your packet they will need two things:

1. A printed copy of your ID
2. A printed, signed copy of the waiver. You can download and print the waiver from this link.

No bibs will be given out without these two things. Our insurance company require us to be strict on this. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Race Day Timeline – Sunday, November 9th

6:00 am: Parking Lots Open. 
7:30 am: Registration is Open 
8:30 am: Warm Up  
9:00 am: 5K start
