<p><strong>The 30th Anniversary Chesterfield Alumni Run: Honoring Our Legacy</strong></p> <p>Hey everyone,</p> <p>There are traditions so special they become the bedrock of our community. For us, the Chesterfield Alumni Run is one of them. It&#39;s the homecoming that kicks off our Thanksgiving, the one day we can all come together on the course that holds so many of our memories.</p> <p>This year marks an incredible milestone—<strong>the 30th anniversary of this run.</strong></p> <p>For the 28 years before us, the founders of this event, including the late, great Coach Stan Morgan, poured their hearts into creating this tradition. Last year, they honored us by passing the torch and entrusting us with the responsibility of carrying it forward. It’s a duty we hold with immense respect, and our goal is simple: to ensure this legacy lives on for the next 30 years and beyond.</p> <p>This Thanksgiving is more than just another run. It’s a chance for all of us to come together and show what this tradition truly means. It’s a chance to honor the founders, to celebrate our shared history, and to be a part of writing its next chapter. You will not want to miss being there for this one.</p> <p><strong>A Tradition with a Purpose</strong></p> <p>To honor the spirit of the founders, this will always be a <em><strong>FREE</strong></em> community event.</p> <p>And to honor the man who helped start it all, we are proud to accept donations for the Stan Morgan Memorial Award. As the longtime, legendary coach at Midlothian High School and a co-founder of this very run, Coach Morgan&#39;s impact on our local running community is immeasurable. Your optional donation helps us give back to a deserving local high school T&amp;F/XC program in his name. <em>For the full story, please check out the &#34;Donation&#34; page.</em></p> <p><strong>What to Expect on Thanksgiving Morning</strong></p> <p><strong>• A Homecoming Like No Other:</strong> This is the year to show up. Dig out those old school colors and reconnect with the teammates and friends that define your running journey.</p> <p><strong>• The Historic Course:</strong> Take a lap on the same classic 5k course at Pocahontas we all know and love. Let the memories flood back!</p> <p><strong>• Fun for the Next Generation: </strong>The Kids&#39; Fun Run is on! Every youth finisher will get their well-earned and renowned traditional Gingerbread cookie.</p> <p><strong>• Post-Run Celebration:</strong> Stick around after! We can&#39;t wait to see you all on Thanksgiving morning.</p> <p>Bronson &amp; Annie, =PR= Run Club - RVA | =PR= Run &amp; Walk </p> <p> </p> <p>*T<em>he XC 5k starts in the front field of Pocahontas State Park and follows the Dominion District XC Course route. This is a FREE community event. The little kid’s run will take place in the front field only.   </em></p> <p><em><strong>NOTE: </strong>Even though this is a FREE event, a $7 parking fee is required to enter Pocahontas State Park. Payment must be made at the park entrance contact station. Failure to pay the entrance parking fee can result in a $25 parking ticket.</em></p>
