Please join us for the second annual Cancer Champions Walk-Run-Roll on Sunday, September 7th, 2025! Once again we are excited to offer 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, and Virtual Participation options.

At Cancer Champions, we are proud to support those impacted by cancer through personalized fitness, nutrition, and mindset guidance. No matter where somebody is on their cancer journey, whether currently undergoing treatment, post-treatment, or if they are a care partner for somebody battling cancer, we will be there. Research has proven time and again that exercise, nutrition, and positive mindset can help improve quality of life for those impacted by cancer. 

Proceeds from the Cancer Champions Walk-Run-Roll will help provide our comprehensive resources to new members seeking our support every single day. 

 

Event Day:

Sunday, September 7, 2025

Start Times:

8:20 a.m. - 10K
8:30 a.m. - 5K 
8:33 a.m. - One Mile

Packet Pick Up:

• Saturday, September 6, at Fleet Feet Sacramento (2311 J Steet), from 11am to 4pm.
• Race Day, (September 7), pick up is also an option and will be offered beginning at 7:00 am by the start/finish at River Walk Park. Arrive 45 minutes early if picking up race day. Registration will be located on the south side of the CalSTRS building. 
• Please bring the QR code in your confirmation email with you when you check in to get your bib number. You can either show it to the volunteer on your phone, add it to apple wallet and show that, or print a hard copy. If picking up for friends/family, it is helpful if you have a screenshot of their QR code as well. 

Race Day Parking:

• Free parking is available at the CalSTRS building, located at 100 Waterfront Place in West Sacramento.

Event Details:

Your entry to the Cancer Champions Walk-Run-Roll includes the following:

• Event t-shirt (performance blend) Unisex sizing
• NEW for 2025: Finisher medal for all finishers
• Eligibility for overall and age group awards (5K & 10K)
• Commemorative race bib and chip timing
• Post-race snacks and refreshments
• Option to create a team or individual fundraiser and chance to win amazing prizes!

All participants will be timed using disposable chip timing. Awards will be presented as follows:

• 5K and 10K: The top three finishers by gender (based on gun time) will be recognized with an award. In addition, the top three finishers by gender will be recognized with a prize in the following age divisions: 12 and under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+. Age group placement will be determined by net time. 
• One Mile: The top finishers by gender (based on gun time) will be recognized with an overall award. There are no age group rankings for the one mile event. 

Virtual Participants: We are excited to welcome everyone that cannot attend in-person, but would like to participate in the second annual Cancer Champions Walk-Run-Roll! You can sign up as a Virtual Participant and walk, run, or roll your way to the virtual finish line any time on or before September 7th, 2025. An event T-shirt is included in your registration, unless you would prefer to opt out of receiving it. If you do want the shirt, it will be mailed to you at no additional cost.
