Proceeds from the Be A Blessing 5K &amp; 1M Fun Run go toward purchasing food for over 2000 NAFCS preK - 6th grade children in need on the weekends, when school meal programs are unavailable. Race with your family, your friends, or your co-workers and together, we can serve hungry children in our community one step at a time. </strong></span></p> <p>The Be A Blessing 5K &amp; 1M Fun Run is open to all abilities and is not a timed event. When school dismisses on Friday, 38% of NAFCS pre-k through 6th grade students would leave their classroom unsure of whether they will have enough to eat until school starts again next Monday, if not for the work of Blessings in a Backpack Floyd County.</p> <p>Through donations from local individuals and companies, Blessings in a Backpack Floyd County is able to ensure that students in need don’t go hungry over the weekend and can return to school ready to learn. Blessings in a Backpack Floyd County serves children at all 9 NAFCS elementary schools and the 3 middle schools in our district.</p> <p> </p> <h4><strong><span style="color:#ba372a"><u>Become a </u><u>Sponsor</u></span></strong></h4> <p>The Be A Blessing 5K &amp; 1M Fun Run is a community-wide, family friendly event. In order to win, your teammates need to be registered prior to race day. Race Day registration prices are $40 for adults and $20 for kids 18 an under. We will only delay for lightning.</p> <p>If the in-person race is canceled due to severe weather, an announcement will be made via facebook for the morning of the race.
