We’re back! After two previous races at a local park, the Acuity Eye 5k is back for good and moving locations.
The 5k will be held starting at Commerce Township Hall and we will run on the beautiful DDA trails. The trails are a mix of pavement and crushed asphalt and run through the marshlands off of Martin Parkway. The course is flat, fast, and awesome.
Prizes will be back again in a big way! We’ll have free Ray Ban sunglasses to our male and female winners, age group special sunglass medals, and a bonus $100 Acuity Eye Care gift card to anybody that beats our optometrist, Dr. Edwin Gay. There will be more sunglasses raffled off as well as gift cards to local businesses. All participants that sign up by 8/15 receive a long sleeve T shirt (additional may be available for same day sign ups). The previous versions were quite cool.
100% of race collections will be donated to VOSH. Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity takes eye doctors to third world countries to provide great eye care to people in need. The cost to put on the race is donated, so every dollar you put towards the race goes directly to charity.

To beat the heat, the race will start at 8:30 am. Water, snacks, awards, and giveaways to follow.
There will be a free and short (~0.25 mile) kids dash 10 minutes before the 5k available to kids age 0-10
Pay attention and use caution near wet areas and any vehicle barrier posts on the trail (those will be marked).
