Aaron Redd Foundation Virtual Run for A-Aron 2025

Aaron Redd had a dream to be a Coast Guardsman. He wanted to save lives and be part of something bigger than himself. On 28 June 2016, he began that dream when he and his fellow Recruits set foot on the grounds of the Cape May Training Center in New Jersey. He was ready to serve his Country. ​Only a few days later, due to complications from the Sickle Cell Trait, he collapsed on the training course. On 6 July 2016, Aaron passed away. Aaron family and friends established the Aaron Redd Foundation, a 501C3 charity, to honor Aaron and his mission to serve.

We are hosting this Virtual Walk/Run to advance the Foundation’s focus on encouraging and empowering individuals to overcome obstacles and find joy in pursuing their dreams.  Funds raised from this race will support 703 Warriors.  703 Warriors is a youth development program in Arlington, Virginia, whose mission is to inspire and uplift youth with the confidence to make positive life choices and become engaged, active members of their communities.  To learn more go to Arlington Community Foundation or 703Warriors.com 

We chose the mile markers to celebrate Aaron as we walk/run and we are beginning on July 6 to honor his final day on this Earth.
