Give Thanks.</strong></h2> <h5><strong>Join us for the Thank a Farmer Dash – 5K, 10K, and Family Fun Walk!</strong></h5> <p>Every November, we gather to give thanks, and what better way to show gratitude than by supporting the hardworking farmers who make our Thanksgiving feasts possible?</p> <p><strong>Local farmers are the backbone of our communities. </strong>They grow fresh, nutritious food, preserve open space, protect soil and water resources, and keep our rural economies thriving. Yet despite these benefits, small farms in Indiana and Cambria counties are vanishing at an alarming rate.</p> <p>The <strong>Thank a Farmer Dash</strong> is your opportunity to take action. Whether you run, walk, or stroll, you’re helping us grow a more resilient future for local agriculture.</p> <p>All proceeds benefit the Cambria/Indiana Farmer Fund at the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies. This fund provides small grants to support:</p> <ul><li>Business planning for sustainable, profitable farming models</li><li>Match funding for conservation-focused projects</li><li>Implementation of best management practices on small farms</li></ul> <p>Race Details:</p> <ul><li>Race Registration Time: 8:00am</li><li>Race Start (all Races): 9:00am</li><li>Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers (male and female) in each race category</li><li>T-shirts only guaranteed for registrations made by October 31, 2025.</li><li>Same Day Registrations permitted at the following rates <ul><li>5K Run Adult $30</li><li>5K Walk Adult $30</li><li>10K Run Adult - $40</li><li>Ages 3-12 - $20  </li><li>Ages under 3 - Free (no prize or t-shirt)</li></ul> </li></ul> <p>Thanks to past participants and donors, we’ve already awarded $9,000 in grants to farmers in Indiana and Cambria counties. Your participation helps us continue and expand this impact.</p> <p>Join us for a fun and meaningful event that supports food, farms, and community. Together, we can keep local farming strong for generations to come.</p>
