Igniting the Flame 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run

🔥 About the Event
"Igniting the Flame" represents our commitment to raising awareness about domestic violence. This symbolic flame burns continuously in our hearts, honoring the lives lost and reinforcing our pledge that their deaths were not in vain. Through education and unity, we work to end the cycle of abuse.
🏃♀️ Race Details
Join us for a meaningful run through the scenic trails of Al Lopez Park.
5K Run/Walk: 8:00 AM
1-Mile Fun Run: 8:15 AM
🎁 Participant Perks:
The first 100 participants to check in and complete their race (5K or 1-Mile) will receive a finisher’s medal and race towel.
All registrants will receive a race bib, chip timing, quality refreshments, and the opportunity to connect with the Tampa community

🏅 Awards
Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each gender group (Male/Female) for the 5K event only.
🩺 Health & Wellness Services
Local health vendors will be on-site offering free blood pressure readings and basic health checkups. Take a moment to care for your health while supporting the cause!

7:20 AM – National Anthem, Welcome, Purpose, & Butterfly Release
7:45 AM – Warm-Up & Stretch
8:00 AM – 5K Run/Walk
8:15 AM – 1-Mile Fun Run
9:15 AM – Awards & Recognition Ceremony

You may pick up for others with a copy of their ID.
🏁 Race Day Pickup:
Arrive at least 45 minutes before your event if picking up on race day. Day-of registration will be available.
🚗 Parking
Free parking is available on-site. Carpooling is encouraged.
💜 Donation Drive
We encourage all participants and spectators to donate travel-sized toiletries or gift cards on race day. These items support survivors of:
Domestic violence
Sexual assault
Human trafficking
Homelessness

🗺️ Course Information
5K Participants: Complete one full lap (blue route), pass the start line, and finish a second half lap (pink route), veering left near the basketball court cul-de-sac.
1-Mile Participants: Complete the pink lap only.
🚴 Note: The trail remains open to the public. Be alert for others. If someone says “On your left,” please move to your right to let them pass.
