14th Annual Canby Dahlia Run

Experience the 14th Annual Canby Dahlia Run—where flower fields, farmlands, and countryside charm guide every step. Whether you’re chasing a personal record or enjoying a brisk walk, this is a race like no other.

Organized by the Canby Area Chamber of Commerce, this event drew nearly 400 participants in 2024—and we’re aiming for even more in 2025!

Race Overview

Distances:

+ 5K and 10K run/walk

Course:

+ Start and finish at Swan Island Dahlias
+ Mostly paved roads with a short gravel stretch;  5 & 10K includes a small grass segment leading to the finish

Timing:

+ Chip-timed by Athletic Timing
+ UHF coded bib chips
+ Live results available online and at the finish line
 
Registration:

+ INCLUDES: Official race T-shirt (deadline applies), finisher medal (deadline applies), free parking, and entry to the Swan Island Dahlia Festival
+ ADVANCE REGISTRATION: RunSignUp.com
+ RACE-DAY REGISTRATION: Opens 6:30 AM (if not sold out—updates on Facebook)
   Note: Prices increase closer to race day. Early registration is encouraged.

Race Day Schedule:

   6:30 AM – Check-in & Race-Day Registration
   8:00 AM – 10K Start (walkers line up behind runners)
   8:15 AM – 5K Start (walkers line up behind runners)
   11:00 AM – Course officially closes

 
Packet Pickup:

Locations and times will be posted late-August on the event website and Facebook page.

Parking:

Free parking at Swan Island Dahlias (grass field) managed by venue staff
Carpooling recommended due to limited space
 
Course Support:

   Aid Station: Near start/finish area
   Water Stations: Located along each course—participants should also hydrate before the race
   Restrooms: Portable toilets at start/finish and mid-course
 
Policies & Restrictions:

   Distance Changes: May switch down in distance (no refunds; difference goes to Chamber as donation). No switching up on race day.
   Refunds & Transfers: Non-refundable, but you may transfer your registration to someone else
   Pets: No dogs or pets on course; none may be left unattended in vehicles or at venue.
   Strollers: Not allowed.
   Wheelchairs/Handcycles/Barefoot: Welcome if terrain (pavement, gravel, grass) is manageable.
   Headphones: Allowed but not encouraged; one ear only for safety.
 
Weather:

This is a Rain or Shine Event—no refunds for weather delays or cancellations.
 
Finish Line & Awards:

All finishers receive:

   + Medal
   + Fresh-cut Dahlia
   + Free entry to the Swan Island Dahlia Festival
   + Top 3 male and female finishers (5K & 10K, chip times) receive awards per age divisions—must be picked up on race day (no mailing). Categories are: 14 & under | 15–19 | 20–29 | 30–39 | 40–49 | 50–59 | 60–69 | 70+
 
After Party:

   + Water and light snacks at finish line
   + Food available for purchase from on-site vendors
   + Explore Canby’s downtown for additional food, drinks, and events (Canby Area Chamber of Commerce Events)
